Did an up-tempo spread offense....

Postby HookedOnGriz » Mon Jan 09, 2017 10:23 pm

Just beat a vaunted defense for the national championship? Dill told me that will never ever happen....ever. Dill?

Not only that but an uptempo high scoring offense beat the best defense in the nation.

I thought only defense won championships.

Yep something must be amiss. I am excited to hear Dill tell me all the reasons why this could possibly happen. I love learning anout football from him.

The bad Bamma D got all tuckered out defending over 90 plays......surely it was a fluke.

Clemson had to beat the refs and the Tide D.....or lack there of......giving up 511 yards should be enough to get Saban fired :coffee:

Dabo is very gimmicky

It does work when you execute and dont go 3 and out every drive.

Those 3 catches Williams had saved drives where as we would have gone 3 and out. Its all about executing and controlling the game.

It helps when you have a QB capable of executing an uptempo offense.

Clemson had 31 first downs, held the ball for 34:44 mins and 511 yards.

Saban with the best players money can buy couldnt get it done when it mattered most.

In two games against Bama's "Defense and Fullbacks" win championships, Watson threw for over 900 yards on them lol.

Don't worry. Growler will be along to tell us how Clemson is actually a "multi pro-set style" offense because once or twice a game they may or may not have two RBs in the backfield and they have a 7 foot 320 pound tight end or some such nonsense and that he called it in 3....2.....1....

Clemson won using a spread offense, ONCE. But, how convenient that you did not mention how great their defense is too. They shut out Ohio State, which had not been shut out in 37 years. And they shut down Bama's offense. But, please continue thinking that out-scoring your opponent each week 52-44 like Big Sky teams do will win a national championship. First find a QB and wide receiver like Clemson has and then we'll talk. I knew you pin heads would be on here gloating, but every astute football coach, and both commentators keep talking about how defense wins championships. You live by anomalies, so all of you can get in a circle and jerk each other off today now that your dynamic fast-paced offense actually won a big game, when in reality it was the defense which was equally responsible for the win.
